Is there a way to save a widget as a draft?

  • There are times that I want to turn off a widget temporarily, is there a plugin to allow a widget to be saved as a draft, or “unpublish” it, without removing it?

  • I don’t think you can through the “widgets” panel, not unless you create your own widget (or use a plugin like “Widgetize Anything”, which does hold it’s contents when you remove it from the sidebar). But you *could* just edit the styelsheet to “display:none; for the ID of the widget. That’ll keep people from seeing it (although screen readers and handhelds will still see the widget)
