    Hi there

I know I can save a Global widget, and that is great.

But my mainly need is to use whole sections as global – is that possible?
If not – any plans for it?… ??

    Many thanks
    Tal

    Sorry, found the solution.

It is confusing cause when you save a section as template, and when you edit it right a way – it’s not changing the template, you have to go and load the template itself in order to edit it (while the original section that was saved a a template – isn’t the template anymore…)

    Thanks ??

If I understood you right, you asked about saving an entire section (or template) as global, so that when you update it in one place it updates everywhere. The article you linked to only applies to individual widgets, not entire sections.

Is there a way to create a global section? This would be very helpful to designers like me who want a section to be repeated throughout a site. For instance, at hcafarmk.com, I’ve created a repeating section of sponsor recognition on every page. Because none of the pre-made widgets functioned the way I needed them to (aligning all the logos on center-horizontally), I had to create everything manually through columns, sections, and a repeating image widget. I saved the whole thing as a template. However, when I go in to update the template, it doesn’t update the dozen pages where this template is used.

Any advice on how to make these changes globally would be greatly appreciated.

@tonymanc You don’t need the Anywhere Elementor Pro plugin any more if you have Elementor Pro.
A: Go to Elementor > My templates and create a section template or save a section as a template.
B: Copy the template shortcode on the right-hand side of the template listing
C: Take the “Shortcode” Widget in Pro and drag it into your content
D: Paste the template shortcode into the widget shortcode field

I tested it 5 minutes ago and it works a charm.

You guys are amazing! Thanks, @technicalheadwear!

@tonymanc Also works with the “Template” Widget. Just tested it. Can’t tell you though what the difference between the two is other than a nice drop-down field in the Template Widget to select the template.

I suppose the “Shortcode” Widget is designed to accommodate any shortcode while the Template Widget is designed to skip the copy and paste step
