is there a way to set which images should be resized or which ones excluded?

    I would like to optimize the width of the images to 700px maximum since I have a market and users upload many images. The problem is that the theme I use has images from 1980 and if I set 700 px, even those are resized.
    Is there a way to set which images should be resized or which ones excluded?
