Hi @phoenixblue,
Thank you for reaching out,
Before explaining further, let me start by saying:
Don’t import anything on your production site!
Here’s why:
If you import another demo, like Maria, on your production website, it will primarily overwrite the theme settings, layouts, and customizer options. Your posts, pages, and other content (like WooCommerce products) should remain intact. However, any changes you’ve made to the theme’s customizer or demo-specific layouts may be replaced, and new content will be imported to your website.
The best way to switch to a new demo is to import it into a separate WordPress installation and compare the new settings. Then, manually apply those changes to your production website. It’s even better to use a staging site and then migrate the staging site to production. You can also use the built-in WordPress feature to import/export data.
We have an import/export option for the customizer, but other settings won’t be imported/exported. For those, you can use a third-party plugin by searching in the wp.org/plugins repository.
Important Note 1: Before trying any new demo, always back up your site (both files and database). You can use plugins like UpdraftPlus or your hosting provider’s backup options to ensure you have a copy of your current site in case anything goes wrong.
Important Note 2: To be safe, you can set up a staging environment. Many hosting providers offer this feature, or you can use plugins like WP Staging. This allows you to test the new demo layout in a separate space without affecting your live site.
Important Note 3: If you prefer not to switch demos entirely but just want a similar layout to Maria, you can manually replicate the design. Use the same elements (sections, widgets, etc.) that Maria uses without importing the demo.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the above steps.
Best Regards
