Is there any tutorial about how to update w3tc plugin ?

Musicwik : I am using wordpress version 3.8.3 want to update to 3.9 before this i want to update w3tc plugin, But i read few comments from users, saying that new 0.9.4 is affecting their website layout or many other issues ? Is there any tutorial available for how to install and how to update W3TC ?
