Is there any way to create a customizable value for a product attribute on wordp

My friends and I recently started a business and want people to be able to customize their products. From what I’ve come across, you can only set certain “values” for your customers to select. Is there any way for the customers to make their own values? We would like to allow people to type in a word, or phrase, and have that be placed with their size and order name and number. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
