Is this a bug? Installing in language other than English causes update notices.

  • When playing with installing in different languages, I noticed that WordPress 4.0 was telling me I needed to upgrade to WordPress 4.0…

    Of course, clicking the “check again” button resulted in “you have the latest version”…until I changed languages again and tried clicking “check again”.

    In short, installing in a language other than English is causing an update notice to immediately appear and changing languages and clicking “check again” causes it to reappear.

    Obviously, I wouldn’t have thought of the 2nd scenario if I hadn’t been always seeing the first. I’ve now seen this behavior on multiple fresh installs. Is this a bug? Anyone else seeing it?
