• I have noticed over the last hour or so in my logs this page is being called? /xmlrpc.php

What is it and why would it be called 65 times in an hour?

    Any help would be appreciated

External tools use that file to post to your blog. For example, Ecto, an external blog authoring app, uses xmlrpc.php to post on your blog. And, Flickr uses xmlrpc.php to post pictures on your blog. If there is only one IP address accessing that file that often, ban it ASAP. They all came from the same IP but the problem is that IP resolved to my hosts server????

When I looked up the top hosts in my assymptomatic stats program that IP comes up, I then checked the pages and sure enough all requests for /xmlrpc.php.came from the IP which resolves to my hosting server I am confused. What is happening.

Did you initiate a bunch of posts yourself?
