  • Plugin Author Optimizing Matters

    (@optimizingmatters)

Autoptimize merely combines & minifies the CSS from theme & plugins and does not/ cannot remove unused CSS itself.

If you did not have (high) unused CSS with your previous theme and after switching themes you do, then likely the issue is with the CSS of your new theme. Either check with the developer or the documentation to see if/ how you can prevent some of the CSS being pushed OR try the new-ish premium unused CSS service from Rapidload which is featured on Autoptimize’s “optimize more” tab?

    hope this clarifies,
    frank
