    There have been no updates recently.
    This plugin throws *a lot* of deprecated php notices in the WP debug.log when using PHP 8.0+
    The plugin author does not respond to Support questions.

  • It looks like yes, it’s abandoned.

    But it sill work and it’s a really useful plugin, despite the lack of maintenance that throws several errors.

    I’m the original author of Heartbeat Control.

    I hate to see this. When I handed it over to the current maintainers several years ago, I had hoped that they would continue it for as long as it was useful to people. Looks like it hasn’t.

    I’ll reach out and see if I can get this handled. I’d rather take it over again than see it go abandoned.

    @jeffmatson This plugin is needed. It would be great to see this one updated.

    Why doesn’t WordPress offer a way to turn off Heartbeat? It creates resource overuse.

    CMB2 should be updated to be fully compatible with PHP8
