Is this plugin dead?

  • It’s always ok to fork it, and I’d say go for it! If you know what it needs, I’d love it if you would post a link to your updated fork, and maybe even offer it as a new plugin. If you can get in touch with SpeakUp’s author and offer to take over the project, that would be great, but the author seems to be totally missing in action. I do hope it is because he has been wildly successful in other endeavors, but I have an environmental group who loves this plugin (or used to) and would like to see it updated.

    Any alternative plugins to suggest? Back when I researched it, this was the only one that was any good, but I’d be open to switching at this point.

    It uses SpeakUp! Email Petitions and WP Mail SMTP.

    The original plugin author doesn’t seem to be active, but the plugin still works.

    It would be great to know about any future improvements.

    I am starting to work on a fork of SpeakUp! and calling it SpeakOut!

    Not quite ready to show anything yet.
