Is this plugin dead?

    I have used this plugin for a couple client sites, and purchased the premium license. I think it fills an incredibly valuable niche – many sellers want the ability to upsell at the cart or checkout level, combine discounts and products, etc. But development and support, even for the premium version, has been basically non-existent. I have submitted at least three tickets, all very small compatibility or deprecation updates, all have been replied to quickly, and none have been fixed.

    I understand the task of maintaining a free plugin, but for the premium version (which relies on this free plugin as a base) I find that very frustrating. Unfortunately, as much as I want to recommend this plugin to more clients (especially since there are not a lot of good alternatives that have this feature set), I can’t continue to do so unless things are updated.

    I’m not into trashing people’s hard work that they offer for free, but as a developer I’m trying my best not to build up a ton of technical debt by implementing plugins that don’t get maintained. WC 3.3 is coming out soon. It may not affect this plugin much as it is, and I have seen Rymera people active in WC GitHub, but I’m just wondering – is there any planned continued development on this product?

    Hey Will,

    Thanks man for the really kind words and sorry we weren’t able to continue with it as you’ve read.

    We’re looking at doing something later on possibly in the form of a SaaS as, internally, and the few folks that are using JITSO a lot, really do LOVE it.

    Plans aren’t concrete yet of course and we won’t be doing anything until later in the year, but keep your eyes peeled and if you’re an old premium customer of JITSO we’ll be in touch if we do.
