    Hi,

I have a 50 user site. I am trying the free version of wp user frontend.

What I need is to be able to allow all author users (50) to:
-post ONLY to TWO specific category (user a can post only to category a1 and a2, user B only to category b1 and b2 etc)
-users can edit and delete only their own posts
-users see in the ‘backend’ only their own posts (vs all posts)
-users are able to upload images, to only there own posts/ own categories
-in the media library users see only their own images (vs all images)

Is the above possible with the pro-version?

    Thanks for your help

    Regards Peter

  • Users will not see the media library, or the “back-end”. but they will have a dashboard of sorts where they see only their own posts, and may edit and delete them.
Users can select categories or not, the plugin has an exclude/include option, so that will work for you.
As far it’s going for me right now, there are issues with adding title, caption, and description to the featured image. Otherwise it’s all good.

However, this plugin may not work as you expect with previously existing posts. When you go to edit previously existing posts from the front end, you will not see previously attached images, However, it will show previously assigned featured images.

I’m only testing the free version so far.

I think the plugin uses a meta field value to get the attached images in the post, instead of something like wp_get_attachment_image, probably so it can exclude the featured image.. so this meta value appears to be only assigned to new attachments..
I could be wrong, but that’s how it seems!

-post ONLY to TWO specific category (user a can post only to category a1 and a2, user B only to category b1 and b2 etc)

Ans- You select category during posting a post. In the form you can use the category field to use category to post.

-users can edit and delete only their own posts

Ans- Yes, user will be able to edit or delete post if they are permitted.

-users see in the ‘backend’ only their own posts (vs all posts)

Ans- If you enable the admin access for any user role then the user will be able to see all post. So, this is not possible to show his own post in the backend.
-users are able to upload images, to only their own posts/ own categories

Ans- User will be able to upload image/file in their own post.

-in the media library users see only their own images (vs all images)

    – We do not have such kind of feature in pro. To ask about paid version please use our own site. We have live chat to answer your pre-sales question.
