Is this plugin still mantained?

I was looking for a simple plugin to get the WP built-in images shown at a widget on the sidebar and this one seems to be just for that. I don’t need a sofisticated, heavy plugin to do spectacular slideshows based on special tables and content types…

But I worry about that warning on the header of this plugin’s page at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/gallery-widget/ where they warn that it might not be mantained or even compatible wit WP’ latest version.

Can somebody tell if there is any problem with using this plugin with WP 4.3 or, alternatively, if there is another simple plugin to do the same thing?
