• I’m finding this plugin very good in many ways, except when it comes to support. It seems to have absolutely no support at all. There is this @joneiseman that usually tries to help people but it doesn’t seem he works for the Plugin, since I’ve received responses like “Let’s hope the plugin owner sees this and fixes it”.

Because I really want to have support for the plugin, I was considering purchasing the Pro version specifically for that. Before doing that, I sent a “pre-sales” message through their website form asking if the Pro support was responsive and helpful. In 2 weeks, I haven’t received a response… So I guess that answers the question?…

  • The devs are usually pretty good with their support, I’ve been using this plugin for years on multiple sites (free and pro) and whenever something important needed fixing they responded here within days (pro support was helpful too). Last time I personally heard from someone here was two months ago though, so maybe they are swamped right now or something.

I do vouch for them though, for what it’s worth ??

@baboehm thank you for your input. I don’t know how it used to be, but honestly right now the support is completely lacking. And that makes me sad because this plugin deserves a better support. It could be the best Events plugin, but the support experience is terrible and brings the quality of the plugin down completely.

For example, I noticed you posted 3 months ago an issue that I myself encountered and is critical to me, this is your post:

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/_eventdates_local-doesnt-work-with-pagination/

    And this is mine:

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/javascript-disabled-error-3/

And they replied to you they were going to fix it in the next update. 3 MONTHS LATER still no fix. For a bug of this importance, this is what I consider very poor support/development.

Agreed, it’s about time they come around to fixing this ??

Guess I am a little forgiving since I’ve been working with this plugin for quite a while now and despite a few hiccups here and there (and trying hard to forget the switch to version 6), I’ve been very happy with it (it certainly gave me a lot less headaches then other events plugins I’ve tried).

I can also imagine they are still a little overwhelmed with the switch to version 6, as Marcus states here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/support-response-times-2/
That really felt a little rushed to me and they surely are still having to deal with all the bugs, problems and questions that produced.

In short: I agree that response times are pretty suboptimal right now, but I don’t believe they’ve abandoned the plugin at all.
I also personally believe this to be the very best WP-events plugin there is, giving you the most control over what to show where and how, with rather few bugs compared to the complexity this entails.

So much for my two cents ??

Thanks @baboehm , your experience is appreciated and helpful.

I was happy when I saw that there is an update for the plugin to 6.4 and immediately tested if the list view works again, but unfortunately still not. Unfortunately the bugfix from @joneiseman works only partially. (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/ajax-paging-fails-on-default-events-page/). If I go back to the first page, the loading sign appears again.

I hope that it is fixed in the next time. The plugin is an essential feature on three of my websites.
