• If you look at the landing page, I would like to create a vertical menu (through any of several menu plugins) and place it to the right of the image. I would assume that there are two possible ways of doing this: inserting CSS/HTML somewhere, or inserting a sidebar there somehow. I just have no idea how to do either but before I try, could you advise me if this is possible, and how difficult it would be for a non-coder like me to do this? If you could evaluate this, I’d really appreciate it. I suppose that it would require the Pro version.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this.

Hey @todindiana, I’m not entirely sure what you’re after, sorry.

Are you wanting to have vertical menu to the left of the “Our life – our family image”? And if so are you wanting this to replace the main menu bar, or would this be “as well as”?

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.

I had a contractor design two new location-specific sidebar areas that are conditionally positioned to the left and right of each page/post’s featured image, so my question about positioning a sidebar at the top has be taken care of.

As far as the vertical menu aspect goes, my original idea was to be able to place the main menu bar within the top-right sidebar and style it as a vertical menu. Unfortunately, none of the free custom menu plugins worked out and those that were less than $30 didn’t appear to suit my model.

What I had hoped for was a vertical menu with major items stacked. Major items with secondary items would include a left-facing arrow indicating this, and when clicked, the sub-menu stack would fly out to the left. Same with sub-sub- menu items.

This vertical menu would indeed replace the current horizontal menubar that now is displayed below the featured image.

I don’t know where your expertise in such things lies, so the above design description is simply to answer your followup question. If you have any suggestions or proposals, please follow up with me.

Aside: the site is still being fine-tuned, which explains the lack of content. I’ve been testing various image galleries/sliders.

    Cheers,
    Tod
