Is this software right for me

  • I work for a market research company and we are looking into using this software to aid. I’m just not sure its right for us?

    This is our most basic requirements, can wordpress work for us?

    o Each participant must have her own separate login, so they are unable to read each other’s logs.
    o Research team and client must have readership rights to each of the participants’ logs. The research team should also have author rights, as well.
    o For this study, there are 6 categories that the participants must write about each day. These categories must have their own text area. We do not want one single text field; we need six separate text fields – one for each category.
    o There should be a simple means of printing out each day’s entries, or all entries for each participant.
    o The postings should not be viewable to those who do not have a username and password.
    o Participants should be able to post images as well to be hosted on the server, and see thumbnails.

    Any advice is very much appreciated.

    you might want to check into that wordpress fork – it’s intended for multiple “sites” for multiple users.

    it sounds more to me like you’re looking for something more closely resembling a cross between a content management sytstem and a task list sort of thing… but i think that WordPress Mu might be able to help you.

    It’s not that it’s not possible with the regular version of wordpress, however I think you’d then get into each user having a different password for their posts, and then the administrators having to track that when they’re viewing posts per user, etc. Seems like too many steps I think…
