It is time to Open to the community this plugin

  • I’ve been following this telenovela on this Plugin for a long time it is a big deal because the plugin used to be a great plugin. Taking into account that the official plugin is not working properly (https://github.com/Automattic/facebook-instant-articles-wp/), the last update was 17 months ago. And the fact that the official plugin is part of Meta Company (like being part of a Dictatorship Country) will make worse our experience with the official plugin (that maybe was an exaggerated statement of my heat for Meta/Facebook).

    With that said, I think this plugin died, not because the developer started to work for a company and eventually stops having time to keep this going (That is the deep problem that WP has had since the beginning, developers that aren’t supported by the community or WP, they leave their own projects). Maybe Meta itself claim, threatened or made a deal with the plugin developer to stop working on this.

    We will never know because the Developer is not as professional as all wanted him/her/zim to be. I do not want to blame the developer, as I was telling, is the natural course of the plugin developers that aren’t supported or maybe the developer had some personal/health problems. But if that wasn’t the case, him/her/zim put this plugin for sale, him/her/zim actually ask for money to keep this going and him/her/zim disappear. Now I can stop my political correctness and write frankly. This developer was a Scammer for sure.

    All this make me think, what if we open the plugin as a community to the community into a Github Repo? Will this cause some kind of law infringement?
