Is TinyMCE pissing anyone else off!?

  • I’ve been finding that TinyMCE does the most stupid things, such as not spacing correctly when you simply press enter (it seems to have two types of spacing), and it also ads an indent to each new line which is stupid.

    And I’ve also found when using the HTML editor in it, whatever I put in doesn’t matter cos it just bloody changes it to whatever it wants!

    frustrating..

  • I don’t like it either, but instead of complianing about it I just turn it off as sson as I install a WP 2.0.

    But I’d still like a decent GUI for editting and posting.

    I think its good enough, but needs more improvement. Editing some of the HTML works well for me. Few issues like when you have an item BOLD and try to unbold it, but pressing bold, it added another STRONG tag to it.

    How do u turn Tiny MCE off?

    I’m right there with you. It’s extremely aggravating. I spent a long time writing a page with correct spacing, bold titles, etc. When I posted the page it was a total mess.

    And I find nothing wrong with the old interface. I mean, how much HTML are you really using in a post? The link and other basic HTML buttons are all I need.

    I am glad to read this, because I started to doubt myself: I am using wordpress for several weeks now and tiny mce almost made me uninstall everything and search for another blog.
    Now I shutted tiny mce down, but it’s still annoying that I can’t use all codes even if they are valid-xhtml like several br’s after each other.

    I don’t have any problems myself writing valid xhtml, but tiny mce does….

    With the wysiwyg (TinyMCE) editor turned off…in a post, hitting enter once will give you a <br /> and hitting enter twice will give you a <p>blahblahblah</P>.

    Can newer versions of TinyMCE be installed easily for WP?
