• Hello all,
We have just installed pagelines on a local dev single site for testing purposes. We loved the theme and were thinking on using it on a live multisite.

    But.
From what we read at the pagelines Pricing link as well as under under the theme’s Global Settings:

The pro version way more control options. For advanced users, there is also a Developer version that supports “integrations” and WP “multisite”

their www.ads-software.com Lite Edition does NOT support multisites !!!!

I thought that ALL themes found/allowed on the WordPress repository OUGHT TO SUPPORT MULTISITES. If so, shouldn’t pagelines be removed?
Am I correct or just misinformed about WordPress policies? Please enlighten.

    Thank you in advance,
    marikamitsos

PS: Can anyone provide names of other themes NOT supporting multisites?

Not sure where you got that idea, but no, supporting multisite is not currently a theme nor plugin requirement to be listed on www.ads-software.com. If the theme passes the review process and their license is GPL-compatible, then it’s allowed.

That said, I can’t think of any particular reason a theme would not work in a multisite environment. Themes generally don’t do anything particularly special enough for multisite to be a huge factor. Some of the Pagelines-specific plugins they have might not work well though, and their store code almost certainly wouldn’t work since typically admin users in multisite don’t have the ability to install new plugins, only super-admins can do that.

Of course the lite version supports multisite, the extra functionality comes in with the pagelines-customize plugin loading site specific css and functions depending on the blog ID with the dev version.

Thank you both for the clarifications. ??

As for the “Not sure where you got that idea“, it is probably because I had never seen a message worded out the way pagelines does on any other theme.
    Thanks again

PS: @arpowers: I think there is a “has” or “provides” missing from the “The pro version way more control options.”

@arpowers do you have any documentation links on the Pagelines Multisite-specific stuff?

i.e. how to set defaults for sites in the Multisite in one place, etc.

Searched Paglines website and didn’t find anything. ??

    Thanks!
    Dan
