Is WordPress compatible with SquareSpace?

  • Hi,

    I want to install a WordPress installation in a new directory where the client is using SquareSpace in the home directory. I don’t manage the SquareSpace website so I don’t want to cause a problem which could render the SquareSpace website inactive. Do you know if there is any reason why a WordPress installation would cause a problem with the current SquareSpace website?

  • I would ask on the SquareSpace support forum. Isn’t it a hosted service? If so, you won’t be able to install WordPress but I really don’t know.

    It’s been a while since I’ve dealt with SquareSpace, but I believe SquareSpace isn’t a traditional web host, meaning they don’t offer FTP access, the ability to set up additional MySQL databases, etc. With SquareSpace, you use their CMS, and that’s it.
