• Hi everyone,

I’m new to blogging and I’m about to begin developing a website for a client of mine who would like a blog on her site. After much research I like the sound of WordPress, however, I’m not sure if it’s right for what I need.

I’m going to design a full custom site, including a flash intro, and need a blog on one page. I’m just wondering if it’s possible to install WordPress and allocate it a section of a page where blog entries can be inserted.

Any assistance or links to documentation regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

WordPress is more of a whole site CMS than it is a “blog”, really. It’s geared primarily towards blogging, but it also supports static separate pages with as much customization on them as you like (using page templates).

If you know PHP, WordPress would be a good starting point for any site you want. This would be a good starting point for understanding how to customize WordPress:
