Is wordpress update necessary?

  • If I make some changes in wordpress, after update I could lost it.
    Is it really necessary to update always.
    Is it coz codes in worl of internet changes or what?

    Any changes that you do should never be done to the core files, and any theme changes should be done in a child theme. If you keep to that standard your modifications won’t be over-written by any future updates.

    The reason that updates are required is mainly for security. If vunerabilities are found somewhere you need to update your system to make sure that you close any holes that hakcers can use to get in. apart form that updates can also contain extra functionality that you might find very useful. But the main reason is still the security.
