• Hi,

I’m wondering if the WordPress.com Stats works only for blog hosted by wordpress.com, if yes, are there some equivalents plugins? I looked for others plugins, but this one seem very nice.

    Thanks

  • The WordPress.com Stats plugin should work on your hosted blog.

    Thread Starter bbonfils

    (@bbonfils)

Hmm really? because when I give my key, I have the following message: “The API key xxxxx belongs to the WordPress.com account of “bbonfils”. If this is not your account, please re-enter your API key” etc. which is correct. However, when I click on the button “Add to WordPress.com account” I have the following error:

Error from last API Key attempt:
    Missing API Key

So I type my key once again, and click on Save button, and seem nothing occurs. I’m redirect to the plugin page, with the two buttons (reenter api key, add to wordpress.com account”. And I’m not able to see stats, etc

    Note I’m using WP2.7.

    Thanks for your feedbacks

I’ve just installed the WordPress.com Stats plugin and I’m having the exact same problem — even after adding the <?php wp_footer(); ?> to the footer.php template.

Any suggestions? That would be much appreciated.

I forgot to say that I’m also using WP 2.7.

I’ve changed my handle. I don’t see any way to either delist my blog from my old handle, or to add a non-wordpress.com hosted blog to my new handle, since it fills in the end of the blog URL field with the .wordpress.com string on the form. When I try to add the API for my new handle to WP stats, I get the same results as what’s been discussed above.
