• Is there any documentation on what exactly the is_single and related tags do? Some of them like is_single or is_home are relatively straightforward, but I am not very sure what is_date and is_author refer to. Apparently is_date is true even if it is a single page.

  • I couldn’t find any good documentation of this stuff. In fact, I nevcr knew there was a %is_home variable! Damn, I needed that a month ago.
This was discussed a bit on this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/3/8721
What I did was used a lot of conditionals evaluating whether there were values in the following fields $single, $cat, $m, $author.
    I hope this helps.

Can someone please provide a code example of how to use the is_home variable?

you could try the hackers list or #wordpress, that’s where most of the code talk seems to go on.

These are not finalized versions, once a stable release that includes these is out, the documentation will follow.
Please do not use CVS or nightly version for your production blogs. They are meant to be used to test, develop and improve WP, not to actually run your main blog ??
