is_vat_exempt not created for manually created orders

  • When you make a manual order, and want to exemt vat. it is not working.
    I noticed that the meta “is_vat_exempt” yes is not created. When I add it manually it works.

    Can you fix this. Thanks.

    Just to clarify, are you looking to add a request manually and want it to exempt the tax number without entering a number in the EU VAT Number field?

    You can achieve this by adding a request without clicking on “Recalculate.”

    Please take a look at the attached video, which explains how to add the request with or without entering the tax manually.

    Hi,
    So i have a customer with a valid vat number. Normally they create the orders themselves via the website.
    However this time I did it manually as an admin via the backend. First setting up to order with normal vat (default WC behaviour), click “recalculate” etc. and as a last step I would like to remove the vat.

    Perhaps I could do your workflow/trick. But I was expecting that when I click “exempt VAT” and there is a valid vat number the vat would disappear. This is not the case. I have to manually add the meta data “is_vat_exempt” and set it to “yes” to make the vat disappear.
    I think it is a bug, let me know your insights.

    Exempt VAT Button is effective when a valid VAT number is entered.
