isn’t good for making multi-language SEO blogs

  • If you are trying to create blogs and articles in individual languages then DO NOT use this plugin. For example, if you are creating a blog in Spanish about Mexico, you would first need to create the blog in English or the main language then create a translated version of the blog in Spanish.

    I end up switching to another plugin even though I discovered this plugin because it is of a blog they wrote about SEO for multi-language sites, this plugin does not do that.

    The support is also terrible, then they do decide to respond they are not remotely helpful. I spent a while trying to figure out how to create blogs in individual languages, it took them weeks to conclude that it is not possible, then they told me its too late for a refund

    We appreciate your feedback.

    We never advertising that our plugin works in the way you described. TranslatePress does not create new posts for the translated versions of the original post. But the translated versions will have separate URLs. That means every page has a separate URL for each language no matter if that page is translated or not.

    About the support, our time response is around 24h, but can but sometimes it can vary depending on the number of tickets we face. We try to help the client as much as possible but there are cases where the questions are not clear enough and we need to exchange a few messages to realize the situation.

    In conclusion, your offered review does not stand. TranslatePress wasn’t designed to work with different posts for additional languages, and since we didn’t even claim it would work, the 1-star review doesn’t make any sense in this situation.

    I think it was a misunderstanding.
    This review had a duplicate and was reported by my colleague, Denis (@sdenis), a few hours ago as spam. Not the current ticket was reported but the one from the following address:https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/isnt-good-for-making-multi-language-seo-blogs/ (it has already been removed from what I notice)

    The information in this blog which promotes your plugin is misleading. https://translatepress.com/seo-multiple-languages/

    These steps will not improve your SEO because Google will see this as duplicate content or a canonical of the original URL, since you are creating the same blog but in different languages. While the second language might get served on search engines, the content is not unique…And does not benefit SEO. Your plugin doesn’t have the functionality needed for a blog to have actual SEO benefits, which is creating unique content for each blog.

    Have clear language in your description: “This plugin can translate pages/post, but cannot create unique pages/post in different languages to benefit SEO”.Which is functionality I was able to do easily using WPML who also has a similar blog about Multi-language SEO.

    You should state this information in your blog. It is very misleading.

    Thank you for your observation but we’re clearly defining the language and offer the alternative languages in the HTML, so Google will know these are not duplicate content pages, but translated versions.
    Your translated pages will still be indexed and will rank just fine, we have proper hreflang tags that signal the translated version and the language switcher are proper links.

    We know how the others translations plugins on the market work, but Translatepress comes with a different approach which is fast and gives you context. Also, it is very easy to use because you can translate the content directly from the front-end interface.
    In WPML on the other hand, the translation happens on the backend, in multiple places, so translating everything that is displayed on a page can be challenging sometimes.
    If you want to use that translation plugin in your projects, it is fine, but a negative review, because TranslatePress is designed differently from other translations codes, should not take place here.
