I used a website analyzer to check my site for errors and wordfence blacklisted my ISP possibly due to many requests. I cannot log on to my site. I cannot find where to remove the block. Can anyone help?

Hi @rick111, thanks for reaching out and sorry to see you’re having issues.

It’s more likely your IP has been blocked rather than your ISP appearing on our global blocklist, so should be something you can rectify from your end.

If you’ve been blocked and cannot take further actions on your own site, rename the?/wp-content/plugins/wordfence?plugin folder to “wordfence_bak” (without quotes). This should let you access and log into your site normally.

You can then rename the folder back to “wordfence”, but?if you become blocked again immediately?it’s sometimes necessary to install the?Wordfence Assistant?plugin to?disable?the firewall before trying to reenable Wordfence. This would allow you to remove your IP block from the?Wordfence > Blocking?page.

There is a chance you were blocked because IP detection is wrong and a legitimate block for another human or bot has caused everybody to be blocked. This can happen when the plugin sees your server, or a load-balancer/firewall/etc. as the visitor IP.

Once you can use Wordfence as an admin again, take note of your own IP on your main device:?https://www.whatsmyip.org?and head over to?Wordfence > All Options > General Wordfence Options > How does Wordfence get IPs. Reference the area under that section that says?Detected IPs?and?Your IP?with this setting. See if any of the options there when picked accurately reflect your IP. If one does, don’t forget to hit the?SAVE CHANGES?button in the top-right after you’re done.

Don’t forget to also reenable the firewall again if you had to disable it earlier.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.
