• Hi,

I can’t seem to solve a strange issue after I updated the plugin to v3.
The plugin recognises the hits/posts properly but doesn’t register them on the widget.

For example, if I go to Top 10 > Popular Posts in the menu, I can see the total and daily hits. But when I see the widget on the website or even view the Daily Popular Posts cards on the WordPress Dashboard, it doesn’t show me the correct results.

I’ve cleared my website’s cache and even the Cloudflare cache but still no change.

    Hope you can help.

    Thanks

The widgets on the dashboard are still governed by the settings you have in your plugin settings page.

The Top 10 > Popular Posts page just ignores that and works with raw data so to speak.

One option is to reset the settings page but do make a note of anything you’ve changed there.

Thanks for the reply. When you say to reset the Settings page, is there a particular way to do this?

There is a button at the bottom of the settings page that you can use.

    Thanks for your help, Ajay.
I tried everything, including uninstalling it. The widget just didn’t sync with the raw data.

Few questions so I understand this better.

You’re looking at the list of top posts daily/overall in the Popular posts page in admin and seeing which are the posts and their hits.

You’re then looking at the /wp-admin/ Dashboard and the widgets there and these don’t link exactly. That would be possible as the Popular posts page is raw while the Dashboard widget uses the same function as the widgets that are front facing – albeit those can be customised further.

Can you give me an example of what you are seeing with names and hits?

Additionally, can you also check out this tutorial on Query Monitor and get the Query related to Top 10 (top-10) in the components list.

    Hi Ajay,

    That’s correct.
So I can see the correct number of hits in the widget’s raw data, and also if I unable the Posts page to show daily/total hits.

However, when I look at the widget or the daily hits card in the WordPress Dashboard > Home, the hits are completely different and very random. It was showing me pages and posts that weren’t really getting hits. And at most, I was seeing 1-5 hits a day for the last published post, when my top post was getting say 100 hits.

I’ll have a look at the debugging with the query monitor link.

    Thanks!

Were you able to figure this out?

I couldn’t figure it out, unfortunately. The widget just didn’t sync with raw data.

My plan is to recreate the widget in the next major version to use raw data so it completely duplicates what you see in the Popular Posts screen in admin area.

    Thanks, Ajay! Appreciate your effort!
