I have created a new subdomain and am unable to authenticate shipstation on my new subdomain even after resinstalling. Am getting error of -1 on shipstation even after reinstalling the plugin.

I previously was able to authenticate for trideit.com but this is not working after the new subdomain. I contacted shipstation and they send WP needs to do something. I thought maybe they need to create new authentication key?

  • Hi there!

Subdomains work exactly like a different domain in this context, and I believe that you set the previous domain while signing up with ShipStation.

In this case, I believe that the first step here could be to change the Authentication Key and make sure that you set your new address on ShipStation.

You can see more about that here:

    Hello Felipe –

I tried to connect already using that documentation and that is when I received the -1 error. Shipstation support was not able to resolve either and thought something needed to be adjusted on the plugin end such as changing authetication code on the plugin so it has a unique code potentially?

Since I migrated a site from a domain to a subdomain think that may be the issue. Please advise

    Hi @trideit,

    Thanks for the additional information.

Could you please try the following:

Please backup your website files and database.

    – Go to your website and add this to the URL /wp-admin/options.php
    – Search for the authentication key you have with your ShipStation settings.
    – Empty that field and save the options page.
    – Go back to the ShipStation settings page and see if it generated a new authentication key that you can use.

If that does not help; please contact us at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support. You may need to create an account before you can access that page.

Please include a link to this forum thread, so that we can keep track of what’s already been done.

We will be able to help you further there.

That site is not working for me to submit tickets for some reason even after I login. It says there is an issue with submitting the ticket and I have tried multiple times.

So I followed these instructions and it did create a new authentication key but when I went to shipstation it did not work for the domain with my plugin hosted (snowyowl.trideit.com) but it did work for my main domain (trideit.com).

When I put through a test order it did not sync with my shipstation though. I imagine because the domain I used and authentication code were for two different sites. Please advise.

    Hi @trideit,

Can you please share a screenshot of the error message you are getting when attempting to submit a ticket?

By authentication code, do you mean the auth key? If yes, the auth key should be different for 2 different domains.

Are you using the same database by any chance?

    Write back soon!
