• Hello,

I have a product that is called “Plaza”
If I write and search the term “Plazza” with 2 “z” in my search, the product Plaza is not displayed in the search results !!

Why??? It should be? How can I setup relevanssi in order it displays me the result even if user type many “zzzzz” like “Plazzzzzza”?

    Thanks for your help

Why should the product be displayed? Relevanssi doesn’t know the user meant “plaza”. You have to understand that Relevanssi doesn’t understand language at all. It has no understanding of the meaning of the words. It sees strings, and if one string doesn’t match the other, it’s not the same. After all, there are many cases where changing a letter or two can change the meaning of a word quite a bit.

But Relevanssi can help: Relevanssi has Did you mean suggestions, which can offer corrected search terms. The Premium version has a fairly good suggestion mechanism, and the free version also has a decent suggestions, if you have enough logged searches.

If you know enough PHP, you can also write a function that will look at the search terms and if you see a word “plazzzza” with any number of z’s, convert that to “plaza” – but I’m sure you’ll soon notice that’s not a very convenient solution.

For common misspellings, I also recommend using synonyms in Relevanssi settings.
