• Hi All,

I have moved the location of a wordpress site, once I moved everything seemed perfect. The homepage appeared perfectly, the backend of wordpress is working as normal, but all secondary pages are not displaying, the following error message appears instead:

    – – – – – –
    Error 500: Internal Server Error
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The problem is on the server side, not with your browser or the address. Most probably, a certain service (e.g., Tomcat engine) is down. Please contact your webmaster.
    – – – – – –

Is there anything that I can do to solve this or is it simply a matter for my web hosting company?

    Thanks for your help

    James.

  • How long ago did you move it? Maybe it is just a propagation thing and will clear up in the next 48 hours.

hey thanks kmessinger, its only moved in the past few hours so yes that could be it.

I thought propagation effects the whole site, no just certain pages?

I dealt with another site with very slow propagation issues last week and the site was either working or not working.

This seems to be different, the homepage is perfect, all secondary pages are inactive.

    Thanks a lot

    James.

I think the way pages and posts are generated from the database, permalinks and all that could be why you see the homepage first.
