    Hi,

    I wonder if you have any thoughts on this;

    The owner of this website is saying that they are getting the orange ‘There was an error trying to send your email, please try again later’ error when trying to send the form on this page. BUT ONLY ON AN IPAD, they say that mobile and desktop are fine. Personally I submitted the form without issue on an Ipad, but just wondered if you had ever heard of this or whether you would consider it ‘User Error’.

    I also personally cant think of any reason why it wouldn’t work on an iPad when it works on mobile and desktop.

    thanks in advance.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    That’s a weird one! Suppose it’s working fine on mobile and desktop but only failing on an iPad. In that case, I’d lean towards either a Safari-specific issue or something device-related rather than a general CF7 problem.

    You’ve already tested it on an iPad without issues, which makes me think it could be user error—maybe a bad network connection at the time? That said, a few things come to mind:

    • JavaScript conflicts. Some scripts behave differently on Safari (especially iPadOS). If you can, check the browser console for errors while submitting the form.
    • ReCAPTCHA v3 acting up. If enabled, it might be flagging iPad submissions as spam for some reason. Disabling it temporarily and testing might help.
    • Caching/security rules. If the site has aggressive caching (like WP Rocket) or security layers (Cloudflare, Wordfence, etc.), maybe something is blocking form submissions from certain devices.
    • SMTP rejection. If the site uses an SMTP mailer, it might not be accepting emails triggered from that device/browser. Checking the email logs could reveal something.

    If you can, can you ask the site owner to try a different browser on their iPad (e.g., Chrome instead of Safari) or use incognito mode. That might confirm if it’s a browser issue.

    Curious to hear what you find! ??

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply, I shall pass your comments/iddeas to the site owner although I would stress I had no issues at all when testing on three separate ipads, so its definitily a wierd one, I would lean toward bad connectivity or user error. If I hear that it persists I shall let you know!

    WP Mail SMTP hasn’t recorded an issue since Oct last year.

    The forms have been in use for years too, without issue!

    cheers
