• Hi there,

I hope you can help me.

See our development site at https://stichtingvesta.arti-sign.nl/

I have installed and set up this plugin MailChimp List Subscribe Form and connected to our MailChimp account. In our MailChimp account I have set up a subscription form and changed the labels to Dutch language. In MailChimp I now see the labels in Dutch, on the website however I still see the labels in English.

Also the e-mails I receive when testing are still in English as where everything has been translated to Dutch. It seems as if the website is not communicating properly with MailChimp or vice versa.

Did I miss something? From what I have read in other topics, can it have to do with the fact that the site is still under development and now on a different (development) URL?

What can I do to show the labels on the website in Dutch? And to get the emails in Dutch?

    Thanks for your advise!

    Regards,
    Monique

  • Hey Monique23!

Thanks for hopping in the forum. I definitely understand needing to get those field labels translated, and we’re happy to help.

Ultimately, when it comes to translating those field labels, we’ll actually utilize the exact labels you’d see in the connected MailChimp list. This article from MailChimp may help with getting those translated:

Manage List and Signup Form Fields: https://eepurl.com/gOHW

However, if those fields were recently changed or translated, you’ll likely want to go ahead and update the list in the plugin. To do that, open your WordPress dashboard, then click Settings> MailChimp Setup. From there, click the Update List button to pull in those new fields.

In regards to the confirmation emails themselves that you’d received, that’s actually something that we’d recommend reaching out to MailChimp support about getting translated. Here’s an article that should get that pointed in the right direction:

Translate Signup Forms and Emails: https://eepurl.com/g0BQ

Having said all that, if you find the fields still aren’t translating in the plugin, can you provide us with the URL for the signup form associated with that list?

Let us know how that goes!

    Hi Mc_Elliot,

Thanks very much for your reply. I am almost embarrassed as the one thing I overlooked was to click the Update List button in WP dashboard ?? I clicked the button Update Subscribe Form Settings instead…

    Anyway, issue is solved!

    Many thanks & best regards,
    Monique
