• How do I prevent the following warning message from showing up in my WordPress application on my LinkedIn profile:

Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘wp_new_excerpt’ was given in /usr/local/home/realtyvision/www/wordpress/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 166

Instead of excerpts from my blog posts being syndicated to my WordPress app on my LinkedIn profile, this warning message shows up. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Thank you for any insight or resolutions you may offer!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Hi esmi – Thank you for your feedback.

I have tried all the things you list.

Please let me know of any other suggestions you might have.

wp_new_excerpt isn’t a native WordPress function – which means that it has to be coming from either your theme or a plugin.
