Issue with 4.4.10 on WPE

    I just wanted to report an issue with the plugin we ran into recently on WPE.

    I ran some updates last week, including one to 4.4.10. Then the client reported an error at the top of the page.

    The error referred to the root folder’s htaccess, “Permission denied”, and ended “failed to open stream /wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 168”

    After much back and forth with WPE, I dropped 4.4.9 back in and it resolved the issue. WPE maintained it was due to htaccess being deprecated on their platform. They had me test disabling the plugin altogether and that did fix it. But we prefer to have it enabled. They verified permissions on the install.

    @mattsaler Due to htaccess is not working on many servers and platforms, We are implementing PHP based firewall rules. Our team is working hard to possible it.
