I like this plugin and it is lightweight.

However, I am having issues with the “Content Type”.

If I set it to “text/plain”:

    • I notice if a quote mark is used in the textarea, when the email is sent, odd characters are inserted into the email in place of the quote marks.

If I set it to “text/html”:

    • I notice when line breaks are used by hitting enter/return in the textarea, the received email strings it all together with no line breaks.

This makes reviewing emails tough. Would love for this to be addressed.

    Thank you!

  • Hi bward,

Can you confirm that this issue persists even on version 1.3.8?

Danny, thanks for the response. That is correct, we are running the latest version of 1.3.8.

Curious if you see an issue, and if this will be addressed at some point. It makes reading emails sent through the form difficult.

    Thanks sir.

    Hi Bward,

    Sorry for the late response.

The first issue with the odd characters should have been resolved in version 1.3.8, but can you confirm if this is not the case for you?

As for the latter issue: this is actually by design. When using text/html as the content type then you need to explicitly include line-breaks either by inserting a <br /> tag or by using <p></p> paragraph tags.

We chose this because some people use complete HTML layouts where they enter line-breaks in the textarea for readability, but those line-breaks should not be actual line-breaks in the email that is sent.

Hope that makes sense. If not, let us know please.
