• Hi!

I’m having issues with a core translation not being read. If I edit the translation in the system location (wp-content/languages), my translation shows up. When I copy the translation to the custom folder (wp-content/languages/loco) it still just reads the translation from the default system location.

I have added translations for a plugin using the custom folder, and those translations work fine, so it just seems to be the core translation that’s not working from custom location.

I’ve tried following every support article, but can’t find what’s wrong.

Any idea what it could be?

If it makes any difference, this is a multisite installation, where we are using Loco Translate only on a single subsite.

Have you confirmed that the custom file is not being read, or are you just seeing the wrong translation on your site?

Are you certain that the string is a core translation in the default text domain, and not an identical string in another domain, such as your theme?

Are you sure the plugin is enabled and running for the affected site?
