Issue with Euro transactions, deposit only partially charged but invoice showing

    Hi,

    We process transactions from the EU, UK Canada and the UK. Deposits seems to be working well with all other countries except for our latest two EU transactions.

    The deposit charged should have been €1500 ex-VAT (and it shows that way on the invoice), but only a fraction is charged (€450.17 and €550.17).

    On both those orders VAT was entered, for example:

    We are using a plugin called WooCommerce EU VAT Compliance (Premium): by David Anderson and WooCommerce Price Based on Country.

    WooCommerce says that it’s the plugin that removes VAT for the whole order and not just the deposit amount.

    David Anderson from WooCommerce EU VAT Compliance says “that doesn’t make a lot of sense, because the code for that is actually in WooCommerce core itself. Plugins such as ours are telling WooCommerce “this customer is VAT exempt”, and it’s then WooCommerce core which decides to not apply VAT based on that.”

    Any thoughts? Do you know where this could be coming from?

    Hi,
    If you deactivate PBC, does the problem disappear? Could you do a test with PBC deactivate?

    Dear Oscar,

    Thanks for your help. We were able to allocate the issue through WooCommerce’s Help Desk.

    As a reference for anyone having this problem and ending up here, the problem occurs when the WooCommerce deposits plugin is used with prices entered exclusive of tax and displayed inclusive.

    It’s a problem they are now trying to fix.
