I installed Media Library Folders a couple of weeks ago. At first, everything seemed to be working fine, but when I logged on to my site today, many things were missing (including our logo, header pictures, linked documents, etc.). It seems that some of the links were not updated when I moved images to new folders in Media Library Folders. Other images in the same folders were working fine. What happens if I just deactivate the plugin? Do the images and documents that are linked cause more broken links? I am slowly restoring them page by page, but it is a slow process and I am very concerned that something like this could happen in the future. Any insights?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Maryjosec,

If you disable the plugin nothing will happen with your images. The links are within the posts, not within a special database. You can simply test that by making a backuo and than disable the plugin.

The problem has probably been present from the beginning. If your site is big, then it takes a while to check all pages.

I have had the same problem on one site, but could not find the reason. Currently it is working properly.

After moving the images you need to check the pages where they are included. The plugin only adepts links within posts and pages, not within other locations!

    maryjosec,

Peter is correct, Media Library Folders can only update the links in posts and pages. Images stored in other places, such as your theme options will not be updated if their images are moved. If you theme stores image links in a non standard format, then Media Library Folders would not be able to find them in the post and pages.
