I recently used the full offload experimental feature to free up server space. After offloading and removing images from the local media library, the front end works perfectly.

However, on the backend, particularly in the media library or when selecting images while editing products, the previews for fully offloaded images (with status: Removed from media library) don’t appear. Interestingly, when I click on individual images in the media library, the “Attachment Details” window pops up, and the image displays correctly there.

It seems there’s an issue with WooCommerce thumbnail generation. Could this be resolved using the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin or another solution? Thanks!

    Hi @duifs,

Could you please provide some steps I can use to replicate the issue? I have tested this locally, and it seems to be working without any issues for me. The only thing that might not be as obvious – if you want to edit the image via the media library, you need to download it back from the actions dropdown, remove from Cloudflare, edit and then re-upload/remove. You can’t edit directly on Cloudflare, unfortunately.

    Best regards,
    Anton

I did not try to edit individual images. I just tried to edited products and to attach images to the products on product editing page, but could not preview the images when selecting them. This is how I discovered the issue.

In terms of steps, what I did was fairly straightforward, I believe.

I installed the plugin just a few days ago. After completing the setup, including configuring Cloudflare, I first performed a Bulk Offload and then enabled the experimental Full Offload feature. Once the process was completed, I didn’t make any further changes.

However, 1-2 days later, while editing products, I noticed this issue.

I’ve shared a screenshot of my media library via the provided link here. The top images in the screenshot, uploaded after using the Full Offload feature, show a status of “Skipped” and display previews correctly. Below those are images with the status “Offloaded | Removed from Media Library.” Their previews are missing, but I can view the individual images when clicking them, and the “Attachment Details” window pops up.

@duifs, do you, by any chance, use RankMath? I’ve just found a bug on one of my test sites with RankMath that leads to this issue. I have uploaded a beta with a fix here: https://github.com/av3nger/cf-images/releases/tag/1.9.5-beta.1

Wow, yes, I am using RankMath! Thanks so much for identifying the issue and offering a solution so quickly.

Just to confirm, I only need to download the “cf-images.zip” file and install it on my store, right? Will this plugin update automatically when you release future updates? I’m not too familiar with how this process works.

Yep, download the cf-images.zip and upload it via the plugin menu in wp-admin. WordPress will ask if you want to override the existing plugin, do that. Once I release a new version, it will auto update to that.

    Best regards,
    Anton

Already did it and the issue is now resolved. Thanks for your help again.
