Please let users know if you have WP FullText search enabled with the mime types of applications/pdf in limit mimetypes box on the search options box then all of your images will disappear from media library except pdfs if you install WP Smush and run it.

I posted about this issue on the WP Smush forum as well

If you need access to images you have to deactivate WP FullText or remove the mimetype limitaion, run smush, make any changes to images and then reactivate your search plugin and re add the mimetypes limitation, if you are using one.

I am sure their is some custom CSS you could use and I am using some but it does not solve this issue

Hello again. I have installed the “Smush Image Compression and Optimization” plugin and I was unable to repeat the issue you described. All the images visible in WP Media Library does not depend on “mime-type limit value” in WPFTS Settings.

Could you explain step-by-step how I can repeat the same issue, please?

    Yes
    1. install wp full text search
    2. install smush,
    3. optimize your images,
    4. go back to the set up page for wp fulltext search and under the section on the first screen where it says limit search by mimetype put in applications/pdf

when you back to your media library all your images except the pdf’s are not visible. Please note this may also be an AVADA issue because that is the theme i am using and sometimes as much as love it it does not always work and play with others ??

Please note i also have some custom CSS on my site provided to me by wp fulltext search.

    Hello,

I have checked again today using your list of actions and still can not repeat the issue.

Maybe it’s linked with Avada theme somehow, we haven’t this theme, but I pretty sure it’s not because of the theme used.

Some weeks ago we introduced a small fix in the WPFTS code which disables any mimetype limitations inside the WP Admin area, maybe your WPFTS Pro version have not this fix yet.

Could you write to https://fulltextsearch.org live support and send me your email so I can share new WPFTS version with you? (this version still not live).

    Thanks a lot!

Just wanted to update anyone else who has been following this issue.

epsiloncool updated the WP FullText Search plugin on my site and everything now works well between the two plugins WP smush and WP FullText Search. The level of support received on this issue was truly awesome. Highly recommend this plugin and this developer.

    IMPRESSIVE!
