    Hi there,

I am creating a pop-up to invite readers to sign up to our newsletter. I’m having three problems.

    1. The form seems not to be responsive, so when I look at it on my computer, part of the form is cut off at the top and it looks strange when it pops up since you can only see part of it. Is there a way to get the form to be more responsive?

    2. I chose white for the text at the top of the form but it is showing up as green. Do you know why that would be?

    3. I’d like to get back to the settings for the form so I can control form placement. Could you teach me how to get back to that section? I can’t find it again.

    Thank you for your help.

I turned the pop-up off, because it looked quite bad, but I did make a screenshot if it would be helpful.

    Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi, @learningwp35 !

The form seems not to be responsive, so when I look at it on my computer, part of the form is cut off at the top and it looks strange when it pops up since you can only see part of it

I’d like to take a look at that form. Could you please temporarily enable it or share screenshots?

I chose white for the text at the top of the form but it is showing up as green. Do you know why that would be?

This can be caused if the Theme’s styles are overriding the settings of the form. So meaning that the theme is “forcing” their own styles in the code over what you can individually set up for the form. If this is the case, then the only solution would be using custom CSS code. I’d like to see the form in action again, could you perhaps set it up on a testing page of your site and share the link with us? So only that page would be the one that shows the form.

I’d like to get back to the settings for the form so I can control form placement. Could you teach me how to get back to that section? I can’t find it again.

Sure! That can be done by editing the form and then clicking on “Form” upper on the right, you’ll see the tab for the Form Placement in the right sidebar. Here’s a guide you can follow:

So sorry for the extreme delay in responding! I got covid19 and was put out of commission for a while.

First, thank you so much for the additional info re: getting back to form placement. I was having the hardest time finding it again but now, with your help, figured it out.

I created a new page, as you suggested, and the form is popping up there. Could you advise about the issues after viewing it? Thank you.

    Hi there @learningwp35,

Thanks for getting back to us and I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been sick!

For some reason, I see the form here – https://insight-services.org/testing-page-for-mailpoet-popup/ – for just a second, but then it disappears. Do you see the same?

Also, for the theme styling, you can select the form’s element and disable it: https://d.pr/i/dXUl3r

Let me know if it helps!

    Hi Elvira @treibalen
Thank you very much for your reply.

First, no I don’t see the form that way. I see it after 30 seconds, which is how I set it u. But it doesn’t disappear for me. I would attach a screenshot if I could figure out how. Also, I am only seeing about 1/4 of the form, the other parts of the top and bottom of it are not visible on the page.

Also, for the theme styling, you can select the form’s element and disable it: https://d.pr/i/dXUl3r

I tried to get to what I saw in your screenshot but I can’t find that option. I am looking under the form settings and I see things like what the form is attached to (our mailing list) color preferences, font, alignment, etc. So, where can I find the setting you’ve shared here?

    Thank you.

    Hi @learningwp35!

Also, I am only seeing about 1/4 of the form, the other parts of the top and bottom of it are not visible on the page.

Right, that’s what I personally see as well.

I’m pretty sure that this problem is caused by the Theme’s settings or any additional CSS rule that it’s placing the pop-up inside the content instead of on top of everything.

So, where can I find the setting you’ve shared here?

Please make sure you’re checking on the “Block” settings instead of the “Form” one:

If you need to take a screenshot, you can use a service like: https://droplr.com/

    Please let us know ??

    Best,

    Hi there @learningwp35,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
