Issue with out of stock products – shown as 0 stock

I tried to replicate it on my website while having only WooCommerce as an active plugin, and it works as expected showing the product out of stock and disabling the add to cart button (if back orders are not allowed).

This thread you shared is from a third-party plugin called Stock Locations for WooCommerce. Do you use this plugin?

If you do, are you able to replicate the issue on your website while the plugin is deactivated?

The reason I’m asking is because if the issue only happens if Stock Locations for WooCommerce is active, then please contact their support so they can assist you further with this.

Thank you @carolm29 for your fast reply. Sadly, no, its not an issue related to that plugin. actually, I have disabled all the plugins, changed theme to twenty-twenty, problem remained. Don’t know exactly what could be the issue.

I thought its woocommerce plugin related.

Here’s an example of the product showin 0 stock instead of out of stock. ??

In order to troubleshoot this further, we’d need a good overview of what’s installed on your site at the moment. With this in mind, please share a copy of you status report as found under WooCommerce > Status.

Also, please confirm the following:

• Whether back-order is enabled for that product
• Whether you’re seeing the same thing after disabling the “Estimated Delivery for WooCommerce” plugin (I’m asking as I can see some JavaScript errors on the site linked to this plugin)

It seems its not from these plugins. I did exported a CSV from Products – export. I saw that on on column ”In stock?” its the value ”1” even if on column ”Stock” value is ”0”. That ain’t normal but I don’t know whats the source of the issue, and however, I dont know if im replacing with ”0” value for ”0” stock will work for now only or not.

The “In stock”? column is binary, so 1 is true and 0 is false. If you have stock management, and the stock is 0, the columns should show “In stock?” as 0 (so out of stock), and “Stock” as 0 (as you have 0 stock of this product). Your results are unusual, and it may mean something else is interfering with your site.

And no, i’m not using back-orders option.

I have tried to take around 5K Sku’s exported out of site, changed the value to of ”in stock” via CSV and imported it. 1 Hour later, everything came back as before, showing wrong status.

Based on your explanation, it seems like there might be an issue with your database, where the “in stock” value is not updating correctly. It’s unusual that the issue persists even after you’ve manually updated the value via CSV.

I’d recommend taking a backup of your site and then try to repair and optimize your database. You can do this from your hosting control panel, using WP CLI or using a plugin like WP-DBManager, Advanced Database Cleaner , and WP-Optimize.

If the issue still persists, it might be worth checking if the issue is related to a cron job that’s running on your site and changing the stock status.

If you’re still having trouble, I would suggest testing using a fresh WordPress and WooCommerce installation.
