Hi there, I hope you can help with this problem.

I am using the iThemes Exchange Custom Loop Add-on as advised for setting Custom loops in the store and category pages.

However, no matter how many items I select to be displayed on the store page, it always displays all of the items.

The pagination adjusts at the bottom, but the displayed items do not. For example, if I choose to display 12 items per page, the store page still displays all of the items in the entire store on one page, but nevertheless the pagination appears at the bottom to suggest there are three more pages of products – but each paginated page shows a repeat of the same products (because there are no more to be displayed.

The site is currently hidden, but can be accessed by first going to this url and then navigating from there to the Shop page where the issue can be seen.

Please note also that pagination is working correctly on category pages, where I am also using the Custom Loop Add-on.

I am attaching two screenshots of the Custom Loop settings, so that you can see what is meant to be going on there.

I hope you can help, and thank you for your time.

Hi, can you deactivate all plugins (I’d start with Jetpack) and see if this still happens, then activate one by one to see when (if at all) the issue occurs. It appears that there is some functionality active that will add content to the page on scroll.

Thanks Ronald. I’m going to do that now and will get right back to you…

I’m afraid that has made no difference at all.

What is more, I have disabled the custom theme and activated twentyfifteen and the issue still persists.

See this staging version of the site which I’ve created for the test: https://staging.kings.flywheelsites.com/shop/

You will need username ‘flywheel’ and password ‘spicy-recess’

Be careful to keep at that link – clicking around the site will lead you back to the live site, not the staging one, so you will need to look again at the link posted here.

The site is currently running only Exchange and your plugin, and the TwentyFifteen plugin. Nothing else. And the same issue is happening.

    Please help.

    Best wishes,
    Andrew.

    Hi,

I’ve managed to replicate this, and am currently looking into it. I’ll let you know when I have more info as soon as possible.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. We’re ready to go live with the live site when this is fixed ??

I think I found what’s causing this, I need to work on a solution, but for now, if you’re not using the last option “Show before or after content”, can you explicitly tick “ignore”, as there is currently no default setting.

Hi Ronald. I’ve done that now.

I just tried that on the live site, and it seems to have done the job ??

Do I need to do anything else?

Thanks so much for your help with this.

    Best wishes, Andrew.

That should do the trick. I will release an update to the plugin that will set the default properly.

    Apologies for the inconvenience,
    Ronald

I really, really appreciate your help. It has been driving me nuts and we can go ahead and release the site now.

    Hi,

I gave this a second thought, and look, but are you using the exchange shortcode [it-exchange-page page=’store’] on the page with the custom loop?

Because that would actually cause the page to behave as it did.

    Could you let me know?

    Thanks

    Thread Starter Abaloo

    (@abaloo)

Yes I am – I thought I needed to do that in order to display the content in the custom location like that?

    Have I misunderstood?

    Plugin Author ronaldvw

    (@ronaldvw)

yes, there’s also no mention of that. You can safely remove that shortcode. So the issue is (was) really that you were showing the store page through the shortcode, and then added the custom loop as well.

I’ll probably have to update my documentation for that, thanks for the feedback!

    (@abaloo)

Ah thanks, that makes total sense in that case. I assumed the custom loop would only run on the page if the shortcode were in place.

I really appreciate how supportive you’ve been.

This is my second attempt at using Exchange as we usually use WooCommerce for client projects. Exchange seems more than sufficient for most jobs we do, but I’m afraid we’re probably looking at leaving it behind because the level of support (I’m not talking about your own plugin here) is not good, and when using this on client sites when a fast response is required, it’s just not sustainable.

I would gladly pay more for support to get it, if the support was helpful and fast.

If you could get this back to the iThemes team I’d really appreciate that.

But for here, thanks for you support with this issue. It has been great.
