    Hey,

We’ve been using PayPal for some time now, and it has been working quite well for the most part.

However, we encountered issues with the combination of PayPal Subscription and Coupons, so we switched to Vaulting. With Vaulting, the coupons work in combination with Subscriptions (see: WooCommerce PayPal Payments – Subscriptions FAQ).

We also have the approval for Reference Transactions, which is required for Vault Subscriptions.

However, current payments are no longer being completed as Subscriptions, and the amount has to be collected manually.

    My questions are:

    1. How can we set up the payment on the customer’s account or in PayPal as a Subscription?
    2. How can the payments be processed automatically like before with PayPal Subscription?

If you need any further information, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you and looking forward to your response.

    Best regards,
    Domenic Beck

    Hello @domenicbeck

Foremost, we would like to take a look on your full system report which contains details of our plugin. You can copy the log files from here:
    – WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.

Please provide those log entries on our?PrivateBin. After uploading, please send us the link, so we can review them in detail. Let’s address your issues:

How can the payments be processed automatically like before with PayPal Subscription?

However, current payments are no longer being completed as Subscriptions, and the amount has to be collected manually.

Could you clarify a bit? For example, are renewals not processing after a customer initiates a subscription purchase? Please double-check that the “Vaulting” function is enabled in the plugin settings.

If it is, then most likely to address your problem we’ll need to analyze logs. Please note that these log files are only generated if “Logging” is activated in your plugin settings. You can enable this feature from the “Connection” tab in your plugin settings. Once “Logging” is enabled, every transaction will generate a log entry.

It’s important to understand that if “Logging” wasn’t enabled before, there will be no previous records of the transactions. In that situation, we’ll need to wait for upcoming failed orders to generate new log entries.

You can retrieve these logs from the path:
Access the WooCommerce > Status > Logs section, and proceed to choose the most recent “woocommerce-paypal-payments” file associated with the date of the failed order. Please provide those log entries on our PrivateBin. After uploading, send us the link, so we can review them in detail.

If you do not wish to share system report or plugin logs publicly, we suggest you contact us directly for further assistance. You can open a ticket with our service desk. Here’s how you can request support: Request Support. Please make sure to include the URL of this thread in your ticket for reference.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    Krystian
