Issue with Permalinks & Article Order
-
Hi there,
I really like this plugin, but after using it for about a year, I’ve discovered a couple of issues:
1) Permalinks aren’t being generated correctly. When I create a new Article titled “Create Your Own Document” (For example) the permalink will be “mysite.com/knowledgebase/create-document”. Why is it stripping out those two words? And how can this be fixed, so that it adds all of the words in the title, like most other WordPress post types do?
2) Article Ordering doesn’t work properly. If I setup the Article Order using the Drag and Drop settings. As soon as I add a new Article, it just adds it into the list in a Random order. And since I have over 70 Articles now (With a lot more to add), I have to search for the new Article on the list before I can drag it into the correct order.
This could work in a much easier way. The Drag and Drop interface for the Category Order is great, but not for the individual Articles within those categories. The simple way to do this, is to create a custom metabox for setting the order within the Edit/Add Article screen. Then, when displaying Articles within their Categories, they will be listed based on the priority/order number saved in each post’s custom article_order post meta.
This is a simple solution to a huge problem. And I’d be happy to help build this if you want to work with me in making this change.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks
