Hi,

We have a client (bridgewateruk.com) who use the WP Broadbean plugin and since the recent core update of 4.7 they’re having issues with jobs failing to post through to the website with a status of ‘failed, unconfirmed’.

The error logs (pasted below) from Broadbean suggest it’s due to Cloudflare restricting access to the domain, however I have whitelisted the IP range given by them and the posts continue to fail. Speaking to Broadbean technical support they suggest that the plugin is at fault. I’m not sure whether they’re passing the buck here, but I need to get it sorted urgently for the client, so trying all possibilities!

Are you aware of anything on the plugin level that could cause the problems shown below? Nothing on the site has changed other that the WordPress version update, originally to 4.7 and then to 4.8 today. The dates of the jobs failing seem to coincide with the 4.7 update but I’m aware it may also be coincidence as prior updates had no impact.

The plugin is also running at the latest version.

    Thanks!

    Error logs:

    Hi Josh,

If you hit the plugins endpoint in your Browser (this is the URL the jobs are posted to) it works no problem giving you the Username/Password error:

    https://www.bridgewateruk.com/?wpbb=broadbean

It even gives the same error using a Postman (Chrome Extension) rather than using your browser, indicating nothing is blocked.

Looking at the error log you have included, there are lots of references to CloudFlare in there and therefore I would assume this is CloudFlare page, served from CloudFlare.

    You can see here:

Access denied | https://www.bridgewateruk.com used Cloudflare to restrict access

It even gives the banned IP address in the footer:

    Your IP: 46.254.116.86

Therefore I would say you problem is CloudFlare as those logs certainly are not generated by the plugin or WordPress.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for the speedy reply! I’ve already whitelisted those IPs in Cloudflare and Broadbean themselves are telling me it must then be an issue…I wasn’t convinced but good to have confirmation from you as well!

    Thanks

    What was the issue Josh?

    Hi Mark,

The issue isn’t resolved yet, I just marked it as resolved here as – like you – I’m 99.9% sure that the plugin isn’t at fault.
