• Currently using IE8 (but use Firefox at home without problem) and I’m getting an error when I go to edit a post.

Here’s what it says:

Webpage error details

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E)
Timestamp: Wed, 3 Aug 2011 16:35:25 UTC

Message: Unknown runtime error
Line: 799
Char: 7
Code: 0
URI: https://www.<redacted>.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=19811&action=edit

Can anyone tell me what this error might mean?

• Could be due to a corrupted core file. Try re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

That won’t mess up any of my settings or saved work, correct?

No – it won’t.

I uploaded both folders in full last night and I still get the “Done with errors” load message on the post.php script. And like I said before, it seems to be happening only in MSIE 8. Firefox is working fine.
