    Hello,

The ProjectHuddle plugin is having issues cooperating with WordFencse. The plugin installs on a client site and a host website, and the two sites talk to each other based on user interaction. I reached out to the developer and this is what he replied with:

This specific Wordfence setting will block ANY type of request that sends or receives a url with the “author” keyword in it. As you can imagine, this doesn’t work well with the WordPress REST API, since we send the author id with tasks, assignments, comments, etc. You may want to reach out to WordFence to see if they’ve updated this or can whitelist our endpoint (wp-json/projecthuddle/v2/)

Any suggestions on what we can do to work around this, or if this plugin can be white-listed? Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @ext237, thanks for your query.

For me, this looks like Learning Mode could solve the issue. From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. This will help Wordfence learn that any actions during this time are normal and it will allow them in the future.

Manually trigger some actions that require communication between your WordPress site and receive responses back from ProjectHuddle now, which should execute successfully.

Afterwards, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting. Any ProjectHuddle actions should now work successfully with your site in future.

Let me know how you get on!

    Peter.
